Boy with an Oar, 1910
This is a reproduction of “A Boy with an oar” of 1910 by Henry Scott Tuke. This masterpiece is one of many produced by this important Impressionist of the later Nineteenth century and early Twentieth Century. Tuke was noted for his renderings of boys by the sea and his delicate depiction of light in his paintings. In 1914 he was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts having established himself as an independent artist who could afford to work in France, Italy and the West Indies. Tuke died in 1929 at Falmouth, Cornwall at the age of seventy years.
